DIFFICULTY

1. The medical bed is mainly promoted by the Brazilian customers in 2021, so the customer has very high requirements on the durability of the motor that require it reach 100,000 times of use.


2. In order to ensure the quietness of the ward, the customer requested to reduce the noise of the motor to below 50dB.





SOLUTION

1. To make the motor reach 100,000 times of use, there are great requirements on the service life and durability of the motor. The durability of brushed motors not only requires the quality of the materials of the motor itself, but also the commutator of the motor, especially the carbon brushes, has a great influence on the life of the motor. Electric brushes generally use graphite as the main component. The material is very soft and easy to wear and tear. We use metal powder with good conductivity as a filler to add to the brush to increase the hardness and wear resistance of the brush. Control the amount of powder added to prevent the commutator from being worn out, causing the motor to be scrapped.


2. Because the noise requirements of the ward are relatively high, the customer requires the noise of the motor to be below 50dB. Ordinary DC brushed motor, the noise is generally 60-65dB. The gap between the motor parts and the gap between the motor shaft and the mounting hole are all important factors that cause motor noise. In order to achieve the effect of minimizing noise, we precisely control the tolerance of the motor shaft to improve the fit between the shaft and the installation end; strictly control the radial clearance of the bearing to avoid noise caused by too large or too small clearance; adjust The motor structure increases the airtightness of the motor. The final produced motor has a noise level of 48dB, which meets the customer's requirements.





FOLLOW-UP

After testing the samples, the customer ordered 5,000 units as the first batch in the first half of 21 years. Since the customer's product market test was very successful, the customer ordered 10,000 units incrementally in 22 years.
