Underwater robots, especially remotely piloted underwater robots (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), are key technological tools in modern ocean exploration, resource development, and environmental monitoring. These robots play an important role in many fields such as military, scientific research, marine engineering, deep-sea exploration, and environmental protection. With the increasing curiosity of modern people to explore the outside world, the demand for underwater robots is also increasing, becoming a new bright star in the world of science and technology. After the Spanish manufacturer Googled us and learned about their needs, BG Motor embarked on a new project with them.
The main problems they face are as follows:
1. High corrosion intensity: Because the robot has been working underwater and has been immersed in water for a long time, the loss and consumption of the motor are relatively large.
2. Short life: The cost of research and development is very high, but it is not durable and requires frequent maintenance
3. Low control performance and accuracy: under the remote control command, there are often work errors.
High performance and long life
Brushless DC motors have a long service life and higher efficiency because they do not rely on brushes and commutators, reducing friction and wear. This is critical for underwater robots to work for long periods of time in complex working environments, especially in environments such as the deep sea, where long-term operation can bring significant maintenance and cost issues.
Low noise and smooth operation
BLDC motors run smoothly and are low in noise, unlike brushed motors, which can generate noise due to friction. Underwater robots often need to perform precise operations and filming tasks in the water, and low noise helps to avoid interference with the environment and surrounding equipment, especially when performing tasks such as underwater detection and sonar detection.
Miniaturization and high power density
Brushless motors have a high power density and a small volume, which makes them excellent in space-constrained underwater robots. They are able to provide relatively large torque and power to meet the motion, propulsion and operation needs of underwater robots, while ensuring that the overall volume of the robot is not over-occupied.
Stronger corrosion resistance
Underwater robots need to work in salt water and other corrosive environments. Brushless motors are typically designed to be sealed or waterproof and corrosion-resistant, which allows them to operate reliably for long periods of time in harsh environments. The motor housing can be made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials to ensure its long-term durability.
Through this cooperation, the manufacturer was provided with a perfect motor that won the appreciation of customers.
BG Motor has established a wonderful relationship with the company and has continued other types of cooperation to this day.
